Once again...
*Spoilers!*
According to what I read, the episode has terrorists performing an attack on an orbital elevator. CB announes its presence to the world by foiling the attack, and then making its proclamation about ending war. Cue resulting disbelief among the worldwide population at large.
So...
The terrorists could be a minor plot point who are never seen again. They could be the first hint we have at a larger evil conspiracy. Or CB might have hired the terrorists simply to give CB a good way of announcing themselves.
Given the general disposition toward organizations with religious names in anime and video games these days, I'm given the last option a little more weight than I might otherwise.
On an only vaguely related note...
I don't remember which, but the mobile suit seen in the screenshot from the trailer is either the 001 or the missing 004.

It's a full year series right? So episode 1 should be very
introductory. I am just hoping to see a bit of personality (e.g.
Amuro as a geek), a little emotional (Frau's tragedy) and a little MS
action (overcoming a 2-on-1 odds). With the main antagonist just
hinting to make an entrance in episode 2.
Thinking back, I can't remember any episode 1's as good as First
Gundam's. One of the worst is from my beloved Victory Gundam, tried
to play cute by not following a linear timeline. Turn-A also had a
lousy episode 1. It's as if the director/writer decided they don't
have to do anything to win over the fans, it's Gundam, they will watch
it no matter what!
