Interesting, but changing the face without part swapping would be a
little challenging.

Well that's not exactly my main point, I was trying to say G00 and GU
seems to be sprouting high-cost merchandise much faster than Seed (and
incidentally everything else in Gundam or even anime history??).
Since Seed, Turn-A was post-MG, it's not the main factor.  Bandai is
brewing some evolutionary strategy, they've (or they think they have)
figured out how to make new stories that sell high-cost goodies out of
the gate.

May I suggest you didn't neglect my point, but actually did a decent
job explaining it.

Also it took a long time to get a MG Wing and MG Turn-A out of the
door.  Of course GU and Hi-Nu are comparable in the sense they are
both based on novels.  Perhaps at some point AoZ will also graduate to
a MG without anime.  But if I can bet 25 cents, I'm guessing we will
never see an MG AoZ nor an HG GU.
