Minor note about the geopolitics, perhaps not really new info. But I
don't think I've seen where Japan's allegiance lie until today. The
Intro shows that Japan, Australia and New Zealand are part of the
Union, along with the Americas. Whereas Korea and India are part of
the Human Reform League, along with the usual suspects. Notably, the
European part of Russia (including Moscow, St. Petersburg and
Everything-that-matters-in-Russia) is excluded from HRL. And UK,
European Russia and Turkey are grouped into "New Europe" as AEU.
Africa and Middle East are "unclaimed" and perhaps a conflict zone
between HRL and AEU. Interesting birthplace for the protagonist?

What's a little odd is the arrangement of those three black dots, it's
easy to guess that those are anchor points for the space
elevator/solar power stations. One is located near the
Brazil/Colombia border (~70E, 0N), clearly belonging to Union. Second
is located in Pacific Ocean North of Solomon Islands (~160E, 0N), is
it under HRL control? Indonesia is part of HRL, but Solomon Islands
can be contested with Australia so well positioned to mount a sea/air
blockade or invasion. Third anchor point is located in Congo (~30E,
0N), is it under AEU control? If so why isn't Africa shaded when AEU
was mentioned?

Perhaps it's a continuation of Bandai's laziness with geographical
common sense or it might prove to be the basis of some interesting
plot elements in the future. Let's hope for the best? Will Moscow be
shown as HRL's capital after all?

BTW, we've already seen in Ep. 1 that White House still stands as
Union's power center 300 years from now.
