Colonel Sergei's attitude seems to me to pretty clearly be a general dislike of the idea of treating humans as nothing more than biological machines to be fiddled with and tinkered with.  If you watch the episode dialogue carefully, he's the only person in the episode that seems to see her as a "normal" (using the term loosely here) human being.  For instance, when Sergei and the Ensign arrive to take a look at her mobile suit for the first time, the person in charge starts talking about "Super Soldier 001's mobile suit", as opposed to using her name or her military rank.  I'm not saying that Sergei has any illusions about her abilities.  But he seems to see her as a person who happens to have better than normal capabilities, while the scientists and technicians do not.

One thing to note - she's piloting a red mobile suit.  That's a very loaded color in Gundam.

Something else that caught my attention - Allelujiah's voice seemed to drop slightly when his telepathic abilities were activated.  His comments also sounded a lot more ruthless than anything we've heard from any character to date, though that might just be due to the unusual nature of the contact.  He didn't recover until after the flashback to the shuttle.  I'm wondering if he has a second personality hiding inside his head, which the mental contact with the Ensign might have accidentally triggered.

Tiere (sp?) complained about the operation.  Setsuna might have as well, given the rather emotionless attitude we often see from him.

Well, has anyone caught Ep. 5 yet? Personally, I like where this is going.. the first few episodes were throwing me off but this one shows more of the human side of certain characters.

First, we have the scarred liutenant (by the way.. doesnt his scar remind you alot of the "Scar" from FMA?) showing a bit of distaste for the exsistence of the enhanced super-soldier girl. Not so much her, as the reasons for her exsistence.

This episode also shows that in some form or another, this universe has a newtype variation.. and atleast Allelulah (sp?) has this. I'm hoping it's natural, and not a story-arc in his past where he was one of those test subjects..

Then there's the whole "newtype snap" situation, and the elevator section gets blown off. For the first time, we see an HRL member and a gundam pilot work side-by-side. This segment also shows how cold-hearted CB can be, even though they eventually help. But I dont know.. I love cold-blooded characters, but that girly-girl gundam pilot with the glasses is really starting to tick me off...
