Seems that there are a few translations/interpretations out there. One point is what exactly did Wang say to Red Dragon (Hong Long).
In the Nyrono sub, she said "if ... then it's better to break it." Random Curiosity's version read "she's fine with the world getting destroyed if ...". Two points: "it" is vague compared to "the world", the context in the N-sub can let you think that "it" refers to the "status quo". She might have been saying, "if we can't induce people to change orderly on their own, then it's better we just break the status quo." "break" is vague compared to "destroy", something that's broken can be mended. It's conceivable that something must be broken in order to improve it (case in point, in the weekend I was forced to break apart the shoulder of the GP02A in order to replace an incorrect polycap). But something that's destroyed can't be repaired. If applied to the world or status quo or whatever "it" was, "break" seems far more acceptable, at least for some contexts or situations. Even the RC version could have been misread. Both N-sub and RC version used kind of a passive voice. "It's better to break it" suggests "I (Wang) would help to break it" rather than "I would break it". "I'm fine that the world is destroyed" suggests "I won't get in the way if someone destroys the world" rather than "I would destroy the world". So even the RC version _COULD_ be read as: "If the world can't change (and make peace) [then it's destined to destroy itself], I would do things to force the world to make peace, but if the world's destiny is to destroy itself anyway, I am fine with it [and the fact that my actions may accelerate the end]." Well I could sympathize with that view. I hold that same view for the current financial crisis :P If that's the interpretation, than I'd reposition Wang, the billions of deaths is off the table now. Other than the fact she's Chinese, there's no reason (yet) to suspect her. It's a case similar to the Nadleeh's Sphere of Absolute Dominance (SAD). Where I suspect even a native Japanese may find the dialog line, by itself, is not completely clear. > Tieria is using a male personal pronoun, which is apparently out of character > for him.
