What I don't like is the notion that "big brother will take care of you"
that is implicit in that kind of approach.
If focused interests, i.e. organizations, really believed that the general
public won't bother to express their interests, then why should such
focused interests be concerned about having an means for the general
public to participate?
What I see, instead, is an attempt by focused interests to create a
structure which is "all for me and none for you".
By creating classes, one institutionalizes power, entrenches the focused
interests and gives, at best, the general public (i.e. the individual)
nothing but a worthless pacifier.
At an absolute minimum, even if classes are recognized, the general
membership must be able to outweigh/outvote the combined decision/vote of
all other classes put together.

Why not?
Focused interests can participate in the general membership by getting
people to believe in their position.
Today, in the US, corporations don't get to vote for Congress folks or the
President. Instead, corporations or other interest groups make great
efforts to convince the human voters to agree with the corporate/group
positions.
To borrow a phrase from George Orwell's "Animal Farm":
Classes are a means to make some votes "more equal than others".
