  Two problems that stand out with the "Self Selection" criterion listed
at the URL you listed below.

1.) willingness to pay for/provide translation if necessary (How
              would this constrain candidates?)  - This cost should be borne
     By the ICANN itself through ICANN funds, not the elected or potential
     Candidate.

2.) sources of income and conflicts of interest (latter needs
      definition) - Agreed with what is in "()" here.  Sources of income
      should not necessarily be a show stopper or a disqualifyer.
