If I understand you correctly Eric you are proposing that the IFWP become the membership of ICANN, the very group that is responsible for the pre-emption of our wrap-up. Which would have launched NEWCO as it should have been constituted. Not as those behind ICANN wanted it to be. Not even as the ORSC sub-set desired it nor BWG nor NSI/Internic. Now the motion by all of these parties, through their various mailing lists, has been to fully undermine the IFWP which in turn, so the logic (illogic) goes, builds their own credibility. IFWP is being broken to pieces by all of the parties warring over the NEWCO carcass. Instead of allowing this diverse group to come to a conclusion what we are now witnessing is a more or less official policy - from all parties - to basically tear IFWP to bits. And what can any of us do to stop this? Not much. After all, even the US Government has turned it's back on it's own White Paper. We're really living in a dreamland to imagine that we can somehow keep the flame alive. What alternative course of action remains? To turn our backs on things we do not agree in. And develop something more in line with our various ideas, saving our energies for more constructive activities. No use even opposing something that grows stronger with well deserving but somehow galvanizing opposition.
