I want to follow-up my polling comments with a few caveats.
First, questions have to be worded in an unambiguous and unbiased manner.
It's not rocket science, but many people don't know how to accomplish this.
Second, there needs to be a method of authentication by independent parties
in case of disputes. Otherwise, any kook or cracker can lay claim to a
secret poll with x responses and x results. Expect to see that turn up on
this list.
Finally, while any polling here would represent only a small subset of the
Internet community, this list is open to the public. No one is turned
away, so instead of some pre-determined constituency (e.g. private,
unauthenticated poll of the citizens of the al-Zagrab''yr Empire and other
imaginary folk who shall remain nameless), we have self-selected
representation.
