Hi Mike -- What we all need is to have one list designated as the
discussion list of record. Perhaps there shoudl be more than one,
given the need to discuss separate topics (DNSO, PSO, ASO, MAC, etc)
on different lists, but without any designation we are essentially
being dealt with in what feels like a divide and conquer mode, where
you talk to some lists and not others, adn we do not know where to
subscribe or comment.

The end result is that we are all scrambling to figure out how to deal
with the mess that ICANN is allowing to develop.

Also, many of the lists you mention do nt appear to be interactive, in
that they are comment collection addresses, but not disuccsion lists.
Having not persoanlly investigatged every one of the list you mention,
I cannot say for certain. But, it is also a huge chore for all
interested parties to research this question for themselves, so I
think it woudl be bery much appropriate tof ICANN to announce all
those lists and indicate their purpose and their operational character
(open for discussion, one way collectors, etc).

So, this is a plea for help. Please do somethign to improve your
ICANN facilitites for interaction with the stakeholders.

For instance, your message included here did not include a single
mailing list, so apparently you do not want thsi information to be
widely distributed;-)...

Cheers...\Stef

}Jim - there are lots of lists, some of whose members claim
}various degrees of authority for them. Esther and I and other
}Directors - most of us contending with hundreds of emails a
}day - do not pretend to cover them all.

}ICANN has comment lists that are responded to, we have a recently
}activated FAQ list to deal with common questions, we created
}yesterday in connection with the Singapore meeting a series of
}structured comment lists for comments and suggestions relating
}to those proposals. Esther and I do our best to answer our
}personal mail.
