NO.
As an insignificant individual with little or no political or economic
influence, your participation would just complicate matters, and prevent the
agendas of various commercial trade and lobbying organizations from being
implemented in a timely manner.
If you truly wish to participate, you should submerge yourself and your
ideas first by joining an association or group. It doesn't matter that most
of these groups are money raising ventures to promote pre-conceived notions
of how things should be, and sometimes these notions are not all that easy
to discern. It also doesn't matter that there are groups out there that are
just front organizations set up by public relations firms that exist solely
to promote the goals of the firm's client! Of course, if you're stupid
enough to join up with one of these, there is no way that you should have
anything to do with the matters at hand anyway.
Once you have joined your organization, you may shut up and be quiet about
your views. You have paid your money, and the organization now has added you
to its sack of humans, increasing its political weight. The organizational
leadership must have the only voice, one that may not be contradicted by its
members.
And, of course, next year you may pay again for this privilege.
