Thanks, Bill, for bringing up the NTIA meeting on .US. This could be
a very important event. If the USG decides to adopt the proposals of
Kathy Kleiman and the DNRC (supported by many Internet public
interest organizations) for reorganization of .US, much needed
relief could thereby be granted from the .com/.org/.net vicious
circle, at least for Americans. 

We (the ICIIU) believe that the reorganization of .US and its open
access on a non-profit basis to individuals and non-commercial
organizations is a key element in breaking open the name space
bottle-neck in the United States, and we strongly encourage people
on these lists to attend the March 9th meeting in Washington.
