Well, there is Germany with its 70000+ Second level domains. It's not
melting down...

nd if it's really a problem add on a SQL engine. Which one should
perhaps do anyway.

I am not a proponent of massive proliferation of higher levels (there
are 8 2LDs in Namibia :-)-O), however as they say in Medicine these
days, there is just no evidence to support your and Keith's assertions
that there is a technical problem.
