My point is that I disagree as to the ability to learn useful things from this model. I believe that the circumstances and resources controlled are so different that using traditional non-profit models (like aquariums, or even larger things like PBS) is not merely inapplicable, it is down-right dangerous. Smaller non-profits can be run on the idea that organizations that do "good things" and generally lack resources should be permitted to go about their business without outside interference. ICANN cannot be, because of what is at stake.
