For those of you who haven't seen this already . . .
Dear IFWP list members,
As you know, ICANN will be holding a public meeting in Singapore on March 3
(details at http://www.icann.org/singapore.html) in conjunction with
APRICOT'99 (http://www.apricot.net).
If you plan to attend the meeting but have not yet registered, please do so
at:
http://www.apng.org/apricot99/apstar.html.
The all-day meeting will be held at the Singapore International Convention
and Exhibition Centre (http://www.sicec.com). It will begin at 9:00 am
with an APRICOT plenary session and keynote. The ICANN-specific agenda
will begin at 9:45 am. Meeting attendees are also invited to attend an
opening reception at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, March 2, at the Convention Centre.
Details regarding remote participation in the meeting are posted at
http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/icann/singapore-0399/.
The meeting agenda includes discussion of several proposals which have been
posted for public comment at http://www.icann.org/drafts.html: domain Name
Supporting Organization application proposals, draft registrar
accreditation guidelines, a draft conflict of interest policy, and a draft
reconsideration policy. The ICANN Board will be considering adoption of
these proposals at its March 4 meeting. If you would like to submit
comments about the draft proposals for the Board's consideration, please do
so before midnight, US West Coast time, on February 26, following the
instructions posted at http://www.icann.org/drafts.html. Please submit
written comments even if you will be attending the public forum on March 3,
as time for commenting in person at the meeting will be limited.
On March 2, several ICANN committees will also be meeting in Singapore.
Observers will be welcome at the Membership Advisory Committee meeting,
between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm, in the "Pacific Ballroom 2" of the Pan
Pacific Hotel, Singapore (which is adjacent to the Convention Centre). The
Governmental Advisory Committee will be having a public dialogue with
interested members of the Internet community from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm in room
M206 of the Convention Centre (space is limited). Further details about
the DNS Root Server System Advisory Committee will be posted at
http://www.icann.org/dnsroot-com.html.
