There are other examples, and none are similar enough to fit a single
model. For instance, Richard Sexton's .ZOO which set to be a
zoological taxonomy tree, following the established species and genus
tree. (check my spelling there;-)...
I see no reason to set up elaborate rules for these special uses,
other than to allow them to create their own policies and taxponomy or
ontology, or whatever they call their conceptual structure.
Further, this diversity concept suggests that it woudl be silly to be
forced to share the registry with any and all registrars who want to
sell registrations in thses special cases;-)...

}IMHO, most of the problems/discussion/arguments/general heat are caused by
}myopic/distorted views of the environment we see available to us, as a
}whole, self included. Folks that have sliced off their own little corner of
}the Internet universe and think that their view applies to everyone else,
}or should apply to everyone else. No single business model will work and no
}single schema will work. Likewise, no single policy set will work. I think
}that most of us know this, deep inside, but a lot of us also get wrapped up
}in the heat of the discussion and forget these things momentarily. I think
