sascha wrote: internauts ! -sorry ietf folks but i tought it may be of random interest to you as it deals with the complex and not well covered aspect of Internet and wholle Society.. and if offers some posible solutions.. wich means it could be a kind of "sister/brother organisation" to ietf.. i "got" a really great idea-actualy it may be it is a genious idea :-) as there is the internet engineering task force for the technical standardisation of the internet technogie and there is no organised dealing with the non strictly technical aspect of the Internet network and its influence on society and vice versa.. and for some time there is a "demanded" for such organisation .. now the time is comming where the "solution" is visible.. INTERNET SOCIETY TASK FORCE means a international task force wich deals with societal aspects of the Internet .. :-) it describes perfect what it is about-and it is very needed.. and also the name "coincidence" with "internet society" is also very desayarable as we always wanted to make the internet society the basis for such international organisation with enough creadibility and know how to take such dificult aspect of broather internet matters and society ... maybe that somebody else haved this same thoughts but i am really excited to have it now and i would like to share it with you becouse for me this is the "solution" having isoc developing further its leading position on global internet matters and also having a organised infrastructure and competence for dealing with such complex matters as "non-technical" Internet aspect.. wow ..!:-) in that light it is easy to understand that similar to technical topics of the internet wich are developed by many working gropus within the internet engineering task force similar we may develope scientific political economical cultural = societal.. topics wich we may discuss and work about in this internet society task force.. what do you think..? thanks sascha ps.i am really sorry if i have done something "wrong" ..:-) random interest is right sascha I received your spam on the ietf list..... who do you work for sascha.... the global internet project? or ISOC or both? here is why I ask. in the summer of 1997 the first time I saw your name was in a PRIVATE message to me,,,,,asking me, of all things, what i thought about mike nelson....yes the very same mike nelson who works now for IBM on behalf of the Global Internet Project and ICANN. I replied to you that I had a rather low opinion of mr. nelson having had him as a client at OTA between late 1990 and early 1992. And that from observing him my opinion of him hade not changed. Now why on earth sascha some 18 months ago would someone unknown be privately writting me to inquire my opinion of nelson... I asked you and as best I remember you were somewhat eliptical in your reply. b ut where did we hear of you next? last summer when you were taking the side of IAHC, ISOC, and IANA in the policy debates leading to the formation of ICANN and writing flames in semi literate english to several lists. Imagine my amusement when you turned up in the fall with an isoc address...obviously where you belong sascha....just as Nelson migrated during the summer from the FCC to IBM....obviously where nelson belongs. your foolishness in suggesting an internet society task force leads me to wonder where don heath and his backers intend to stop in trying to turn ISOC into a global burueacracy to manage and regulate the internet. someone somewhere at IS OC is more than a little too power hungry..... and sascha, if you had a clue as to what's going on in the US you would realize that the latest mission you propose for heath is already well in hand by CPSR. they have announced this as their turf. ISOC in backing ICANN is threatening to try to make the combination of the two into an ITU for the Internet. such an outcome would be a disaster for the very interests of the ordinary person whom you propose to protect. so sasha pound t he table all you want with isoc members. if they ar e foolish enough to buy your ideas that is their problem, but don't spam the IETF list with such ideas. *************************************************************************** The COOK Report on Internet | New handbook just published:IP Insur- 431 Greenway Ave, Ewing, NJ 08618 USA| gency & Transformation of Telecomm.See (609) 882-2572 (phone & fax) | http://cookreport.com/insurgency.html [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Index to 7 years of COOK Report, how to subscribe, exec summaries, special reports, gloss at http://www.cookreport.com ******************************************************************************
