John and all,
Good points here and they have been enumerated several times
before, but should be repeated as often as possible. It may also
be useful to note that is some states the level of business and
personal privacy go beyond to some extent what the USG provides
for. Delaware and Texas are two such examples. Issues of
reciprocity also come into play legally as well, with respect to
both personal and business privacy. However as has been
demonstrated on this very list, by a particular individual, there
are misgivings and concerns as to whether that privacy level
should be allowed with respect to Domain Names and registrations
of such.
What is astounding to me and others is the level of ignorance of the law
that seems to prevail on this, and a few other lists in regards to
privacy rights.
