Dear Aisling Heraughty-
I want to call your attention to an error in your recent press
release concerning the ICANN Berlin meetings. You have referred to
the ICANN board as the "initial board", whereas it is actually the
"interim board". Art. V Sec. 1 of the ICANN Bylaws states that:
"The initial Board of Directors of the Corporation ("Initial Board")
shall consist of nine At Large members, the President (when
appointed) and those Directors that have been selected in accordance
with these bylaws by any Supporting Organization(s)
that exists under Section 3(a) of Article VI during the term of any
of such At Large members."
The present board doesn't fit that definition, and therefore can't
rightly be called the "initial board". I'm sure you'll want to
correct this so that Ogilvy isn't accused of releasing
misinformation.
Thanks.
Yours,
Michael Sondow
