You may have (inadvertently) been sent a trojan horse email virus called <Explore.exe> that is propagating throughout the Internet. It installs itself on your computer when you open the attached file in a message such as: Hi ________ ! I received your email and I shall send you a reply ASAP. Till then, take a look at the attached zipped docs. Sincerely. <<zipped_files.exe>> and then sends out copies to everyone from whom you receive an email. It also erases all the contents of .doc files (I lost all mine!!!). If your machine is infected (if you have <Explore.exe>), you must eliminate it immediately, before you infect others. Go to http://www.cert.org/advisories/CA-99-06-explorezip.html and http://www.mcafee.com/viruses/explorezip/protecting_yourself.asp for instructions. If your machine has been infected, and you have received email since then, you should notify the people you have received mail from that their machines may be infected now, too. Michael S.
