Mr. Ayoob,

The attached letter does not represent the sentiments of the vast majority
of the Internet community. Indeed, it is contrary to those sentiments.

The issues comnfronting ICANN, NTIA, CORE and NSI (among other
organizations) is far beyond the scope of this memo, and I will not attempt
to summarize it here. Suffice it to say that many special interests are at
play (including, near the front of the line, CORE).

If you choose to engage in this very complex and important debate, I would
recommend garnering the input of at least the following organizations, on
all sides of the issues:

ICANN
CORE
NSI
ORSC
Department of Commerce
Office of Representative Tom Bliley
Office of Representative Tom Sawyer
Office of Senator Patrick Leahy
ISOC
TLDA
Netnames

There are many other organizations involved, including the two companies I
represent in these discussions, Diebold Incorporated and anycastNET
Incorporated. Others may wish to forward you additional contacts, but this
is a start.

The attached letter is an obvious attempt to try to sway your views to a
singular path. I urge you to consider it in the light of open discussion
and consider other views,

Kindest regards,

Gene Marsh
