As the registry industry matures, it seem like people are 
undergoing the natural "self organization" the white paper
called for in spite of, not because of ICANN.

At this point you could in fact rename ICANN to be IAHC
or CORE - deosn't matter - and nobody would know the difference.

Psycologically, this forces a natutal alignment in the 
people that don't subscribe to COREs model and their dollars
and efforts are working to the same as as CORE's but
without all the endless mire of committes. I'm more
than pleased with the way things are shaping up.
