For those of you who plan to attend the Berkman Center's "ICANN: Issues
Ahead" workshop (Sunday, October 31, the day before the first ICANN
meetings), here's some additional information and RSVP instructions.

*TENTATIVE AGENDA*

The purpose of the workshop is to investigate and consider some of the
unresolved issues confronting ICANN. For a fresh perspective, we've
invited panelists with significant outside expertise.

* We'll begin the morning with a tutorial on the proposed Uniform
Dispute Resolution Policy slated to apply to allegations of
cyberquatting in .com, .net, and .org. The session will be led by
members of the drafting team.

* The day will continue with plenary sessions. First, ICANN and
stakeholder representatives will present their respective views on
"consensus," and we'll also hear from experts on dispute resolution.
The day will continue with a discussion of gTLD competition (more
details TBA). Finally, we'll hear from specialists in corporate and
regulatory law on issues relating to openness and transparency.

* More workshop details, including a listing of specific panelists, will
be posted as available on the workshop web site,
<http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/icann/workshops/la>.

The workshop will utilize experimental electronic formats -- webcasting
plus new structured remote participation tools -- to include a range of
stakeholders, both present and remote, in the discussions. ICANN has
tentatively agreed to allow selected conference participants (physically
present or remote) to present the results of the workshop at appropriate
points in the Public Meeting agenda.

*PLEASE RSVP*

To help us better estimate the number of attendees, we ask that those
planning to attend, either in person or remotely, preregister via the
signup form at
<http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/icann/workshops/la/preregistration>. (If
you've already preregistered at *this* address, you need not preregister
again! However, if you've previously preregistered only for the main
ICANN meetings, via
<http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/icann/la/preregistration>, please do
preregister at the Workshop preregistration address.)

(You are receiving this message because you preregistered to attend the
ICANN Los Angeles meetings in person or online via remote
participation. If you're not interested in future messages about the
Issues Ahead Workshop, please let me know and I'll see that you're only
sent messages about the main ICANN Los Angeles meetings.)
