So much bickering over trifles. Sad!
So much egoism undermining truth.

The postings thus far avoid the point.
I watched agape as you all fled from the
difficult central issue I've raised yet again.
Not one person on this e-list, not Esther,
not anyone, has directly talked about it.
Why try to evade such a core concern?

I repeat:
"Will you address the legitimacy of a governance body that's
presuming to govern without the consent of the governed?
There has never been a global vote giving permission
for ICANN to become our global Internet government."

So, argue this logic:
If a government must be elected to be legitimate.
if there is to be any kind of Internet government,
for that government to be legitimate, it must be
elected. ICANN is assuming the powers of an
Internet government. ICANN was never elected
by the people of the Internet. Therefore, ICANN
is illegitimate. Is there a flaw in my reasoning?

Debate this notion:
And if you agree that ICANN is illegitimate, then
cooperation with its attempt to rule is illogical.
Rulers have only the power WE give them.

Consider this vision:
Let Esther walk away, Let ICANN fall -- replaced
with an elected government based upon a global
Internet Constitution. Let's try laws, not decrees.
Let's try responsible self rule. Let's be true to our
souls. Let's be mature enough to try democracy.

Please, why not talk about what truly matters?
