I changed the subject line to more closely centered on your comments
here Dennis.
I agree with Dennis's suggestion here for obvious and well known
reasons. I would also invite others comments on Dennis's suggestion
from the DNSO GA or other lists that are also DNSO members
here. In the sprit of Vinton Cerf's "The Internet is
for everybody"
I am sure that reason, fairness, openness and transparency
should and can prevail. >;)
Comments or considerations please?

Dear GARegards,With representation on the Names Council restricted to organized
constituencies, and with the Names Council positioned between
the GA and the ICANN Board, the GA is the only area where
the universe of Net users can express itself without the filter of
the Names Council and Constituencies. It is very important that this election be carried out with no
suspicion of undue influence by the Names Council or Constituencies. While I applaud Ben Edelman's suggestion for a watchdog group,
I feel the watchdog group needs to be able to certify that voting is
not denied to any people who have been unable to get themselves on
the DNSO list.It would be better to delay the election itself until the watchdog group --
or some other group -- can certify that any list problems that may have existed
have now been rectified. Without this knowledge in hand, the watchdogs
are basically condemned to a best case evaluation of "DNSO's elections were
done according to their rules, but we can't judge whether anyone was
denied the freedom to vote.">Dennis Schaefer
