All,

A call to me on my cell phone just came into me form some of our
members
attending the demonstrations at the Seattle WTO "Meeting", ah-hem...

Five elderly folks, 2 of which were also members of INEGRoup were
injured by police while beig dragged (Badely) away by police early
today.
Margaret Hinkel (74) and James Dougan (77) were seriously injured
by police, they were "Gray Panther" Members as well as INEGroup
members. The other three were also injured but less seriously, all
were hospitalized. Ms. Hinkel is Wheel chair bound, was filmed and
witnessed by other of our members being dragged from out of her
wheel chair while peacefully marching with the "Gray Panthers".
She is now listed in VERY serious condition. (Smoke and tear
gas inhalation) is complicating her condition, the phone report told me.

Mr. Dougan, also a "Gray Panther" and INEGroup member and
significant financial contributor, was also taken away by police
after being struck on several areas of his body, breaking several
ribs and puncturing a lung. He is in guarded condition in a local
hospital. His grand daughter was doing some of the filming,
of both these incidents as well as others at the time. It was
reported to me that Mr. Dougan was boisterous in his slogan
chanting, referencing ICANN as well, but polite.

I was also told on the phone, and listened to the tape played
over the phone of the one of the two arresting offices making
comments to Mr. Dougans slogans directed towards ICANN
in a most disgusting manner as they "Placed" him in custody.

For the interim, INEGroup will be taking care of all medical
needs and expenses for these members, and looking into
legal considerations as well.

Though it is too early to determine, but it looks like ICANN
has shed first blood...

As more comes in on this I will try to keep you informed.

In a word, all I can say is...
DISGUSTING!!

Regards,
