The ICIIU is a small non-profit corporation, incorporated in
Delaware, that was formed last year with private money, for the
purpose of representing the interests of Internet users in the
Internet privatization process, as the ICIIU website clearly
explains.
The ICIIU is not incorporated as a membership organization, although
it has a provision in its Articles of Incorporation for becoming
one. The principle reason why this was done was to prevent agents
provacateurs, who have ruined other organizations like the IFWP and
IDNO, from infiltrating the ICIIU.
Funding has so far come from private sources including my own
pocket. But the ICIIU's expenses are small. Last year (1999), they
amounted to something like $6,000, not counting my own time, which I
don't charge for.
If you have any other questiond, I'd be happy to answer them.
