For more than half a day now one of the nameservers for .NL claims
that no domains exist anymore in that domain:

% host -t ns nl. c.root-servers.net
nl NS NS2.NIC.FR
nl NS NS.EU.NET
nl NS NS.DOMAIN-REGISTRY.nl
nl NS SPARKY.ARL.MIL
nl NS SUNIC.SUNET.SE
nl NS AUTH02.NS.UU.NET

% host -t ns domain-registry.nl. sparky.arl.mil
domain-registry.nl has no NS record at sparky.arl.mil (Authoritative answer)

I have notified the people at domain-registry.nl - but can't get
though their telephone firewall, and the people at the phone firewall
claims "our technical persons have looked at it and no problem exists".
I've also notified James L. Fielding who is registered as the
contact person of "host sparky.arl.mil". No reponse.

The root nameservers seem to be confused about .NL too:

% host -t ns nl. l.root-servers.net.
nl NS record not found at l.root-servers.net, server failure

Earlier in the day a, e and f failed to resolve .NL as well.

Is there anyone here who has the power to do something about it?
Or at least anyone who has an explanation?

All input is appreciated ..

Mike.
