I recommend you speak out on the issues in public. It's better then
staying silent and alot of the people there have been fighting for many
year - they would I'm sure appreciate fresh blood and new voices.

I agree - but that should not be a problem. Multinationals already
existed prior to the advent of the internet - and they will probably
continue to exists. I'm not sure if it's for very long, like the dino's
they maybe in for a surprise due to the internet.
More people like yourself are discussiong these issues. The lawyers have
also made a mess of the dns. And that works against the multinational
interests.
You are currently witnessing a period of transition. My recommendation -
Don't panic and get the word out.

Remember - ICANN's sole control in this matter is that it runs the root
servers. Anyone can run a root server and as soon as people realize this
ICANN the USG and DOC will suffer significant embarrassment.
