Roger Cochetti says:

This is disingenuous and untrue. The first ones will obviously
become a model for further ones. This is an attempt by Mr. Cochetti
to establish a methodology for new TLDs without having it submitted
to debate.

In other words, put into immediate effect a measure which is
currently being hotly disputed and which runs directly counter to
the interests of a large percentage of Internet users.

Europe has already decided upon its new TLD. It is to be .EU.
Perhaps Mr. Cochetti could read a little and try to keep better
abreast of events before insulting any further the millions of
Internet users in Europe. And by the way, the Europeans have their
own ideas about who will run their TLD registry, and I doubt very
much if it's going to be Richard Foreman and Ken Stubbs.

So, it's not enough for big business to attempt to control the
existing
namespace, now it is to be given the new one. How about .union
instead, as Ralph nader's organization and the unions want? Or how
about a TLD for the non-profit, non-commercial organizations, since
NSI has stolen .org in order to profit from its sale to the same
corporations that have .com and .net, and who run ICANN? But no, Mr.
Cochetti must ingratiate himself with the banks, his best customers.
And of course Mr. cochetti will have his way, since he put esther
Dyson into the chair of ICANN, against the White Paper and the
antitrust laws of this country. Are we then to have new TLDs
proposed by a criminal?

> For both ".shop" and ".banc", we believe that the important point is not the

In other words, railroad through the TLDs and registries that
benefit Mr. Cochetti, NSI, and IBM.
