Micheal,
Viruses aren't MS's fault and MS is very good at some things.
No need to be suckered. Netscape is easy to install, and I think it has a
cleaner e-mail interface, if not as feature-full.
The frustrating part with MS is that its applications are so inconsistent. Some
parts are very smart, and other parts are ridiculously stupid. Life's a tease.
I've made my living the last few years programming in Delphi and before that as
a WordPerfect/Novell consultant, so I can give a loooong spiel on the faults of
MS. These are not going to be remembered as "the good old days" of computing.
But in this day and age we need to run virus protection. That's just the way it
is. Remember that Apple stuff used to be much more susceptible to viruses than
DOS stuff.
