More ICANN FUD. I'm not surprised - this process is so corrupt it stinks
to the hills and back. Shame. However this whole rolly polly show is
being closed - so enjoy while you can.

Dear non-commercial domain name holders,

I might as well speak up at this point.
Salzburg Seminar is now functioning as ICANN's figleaf for claiming that
everybody who is worthy of being listened to (and who is not on somebody's
expense account) can attend the ICANN meetings.

When its role was announced in Cairo, nothing was said about the criteria
for approval of help with travel funding.

Applicants had to find out for themselves, from SS's website, that
only members of organizations that are members of the NCDNHC need
apply.
Are you all aware of this?

The exclusion of non-approved or applicant-constituencies could only have
been a policy instituted at ICANN's request. Keep the individuals'
representatives out.
It is in contravention of the Markle Foundation's stated goal of promoting
democracy in Cyberspace governance.

If Salzburg Seminar itself now becomes a voting member of the NCDNHC, the
circle is closed.

As a voting member of the NCDNHC ,SS will have too much influence in
determining who will be supported and who will be left unsupported to
participate in the all-important physical ICANN meetings.

SS holding the money pot that so many (other) NCDNHC members will depend
on, should really disqualify it from participating in policymaking
processes in the same organization that it exclusively targets for its
largesse.

But it's up to you all, really, to allow your structure to become
corruptible.
