Unfortunately, your perspective is not useful, principally because
your premises are incorrect.
ICANN did not begin as a cooperative process, as you claim; it began
as a coup d'etat by a small group of persons (Roger Cochetti of IBM,
Vint Cerf of MCI, Mike Roberts of ISOC, and Joe Sims of JonesDay,
primarily) who fabricated a board of directors that represents no
cooperation except that between the government and big business.
What this process has become is not in any way a series of personal
battles, as you claim, but rather a political battle between those
forces that wish to preserve the internet for free communications
and those who wish to place it under the control of big business so
that it can be exploited by them for profit.

This is a recipe for mind control and fascism. What you are saying,
and what the rest of your message amplifies on, is that a population
can be manipulated into acquiescing to a politics and economics
unbeneficial to it through control of its perceptions, and that by
granting it the illusion of choice it can be neutralized. This is
the modus operandi of the propagandists and PR people who have
become the best weapon of big business and its bought spokesmen, our
politicians, against the populace.

No. It is the only role which permits having an effect on the future
of the Internet that will benefit the population at large, a very
different thing. There have always been openings in ICANN for those
willing to collaborate in achieving its objectives or willing to be
used as strawmen.
It is no surprise that you, a member of the Harvard political and
power structure, propone the incorrect and delusionary analysis in
your message. Harvard, and not only it but all the universities
which have so far participated in the ICANN swindle, has from the
very first played the role of the third man in the indoctrination:
the first to hold the victim down, the second to beat him, and the
third man to tell him that there is no point in resisting. You are
the third man, the PR technician, who uses pseudo-democracy as a
weapon against the people.
