And so it happened in the early IDNO, yes, also due to my own mistakes. 
Only thanks to the persistent efforts of DN owners like Peter Hyde, who
drafted the Re-railing proposal (see www.idno.org/rrp.htm) and the members
who stayed around to vote it through, the effort was finally saved. 
The fortunate difference with the IFWP was that those who opposed the
IDNO's  goals did not have the stature and weight to throw the rest.
