Thanks, all.  A little bit of poking around led me to grub.conf in the boot
directory.  Moved the chainloader entry up, and now That Other OS boots as
the default.

Noticed that Anaconda only defined one drive, so that might be -part- of the
reason I couldn't get Ubuntu loaded on the USB drive.  May try that later
tonight, or may chalk up this small victory as a good place to stop and bask
for a bit.
