Its that time again, seeking a topic and presenter for July. We have
August taken care of already, Kevin Johnson is scheduled to do a
presentation on Snort and Base. We might need to do another security
related presentation. Given all the hacking going on this year, Gmail,
Sony playstations, Citi credit cards, and now the Arizona Police
department.

Yes this is more along the lines of Infraguard type of stuff. However
Linux can play a major role in helping to secure and keep things secure.
After all exploits on Linux or Unix based systems typically are
considerably harder than on other platforms. Though that does not mean
applications running on Linux will be as difficult to exploit. Surely
not if they are web facing apps that were developed in house, etc.

Anyway given the times, we might want another security related
presentation beyond the Snort and Base presentation. I did a basic one
on xtables earlier this year. We can revisit firewalling, maybe package
analysis with tcpdump and other things. Though other topics and
presentations are welcome as always :)
