Wow, thank everyone for you great responses! I've been working on learning CSS for the last few months now and I guess I still have a lot to learn.

The page you sent me was just the HTML, it doesn't appear to have any CSS code.
I really had no idea I needed to place the nav div above the container div. David Shuck ended up sending me a message after my original email and this is what we came up with as a solution. What do you all think? I guess there is more than one way to skin a cat.
Again, thanks to all for the help I find this list an invaluable tool!
