I've had this problem before and fixed it by returning to the default arguments passed to the JVM.
I had adjusted them to be quicker on the running of my pages but it turned into a constant reoccurring restart daily and then hourly as traffic picked up... I was using CF 6.1

Thanks Cameron. Debug is and has been off. There was a really interesting presentation about the garbage collection process at CFUnited last summer. At the time much of it went over my head, especially since it was day 3 (5 for me actually) of being there I was getting pretty close to saturated! I need to go back over that information and google the items you listed below. I have a feeling that the last week or so of immersing myself in metrics stack trace dumps may have hardened me a bit and better prepared me to revisit that topic. :)

possibility is that you are witnessing a particularly harsh garbage
collection. There's alot of information about GC in CFMX and JVM
tuning out there, and if debug's already off and it's not the problem,
you might Google for "CFMX JVM Tuning" or "CFMX Garbage Collection"
for more help.
