To resolve this issue I am now including an application.cfm file to every template I’m using that’s going to require the session variable. I was I don’t understand why I’m doing this to MX and not on 5.0.

Subject: [DFW CFUG] session variables with ajax and cf

Hi All,

I have a bizarre session variable behavior and I don’t know why. As you all know I created my own engine.js and it seems to be working great for me. I am recreating Truth Hardware’s shopping cart using ajax and cf. I started the project on a CFServer 5.0. On the main page I’ve initialized and hardcoded a session variable. Outputting the session variable from the page I’m calling via ajax is not a problem on a CFServer 5.0. A different story though running the same code on a CFServerMX 6.1. I get the session variable is not defined error. Does anyone know why and what would be the best solution to this problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ron
