Hello all,

My company, Unitrin Specialty (www.unitrinspecialty.com), has a need for an intermediate/advanced-level ColdFusion contractor, starting around 7/5 and going until the end of the year.  The focus for the contract will be our Website Redesign project.

Initially the job will be to re-skin several applications, and separate some of the business logic into CFC’s where appropriate, working with a team of full-time developers to complete these tasks as we redesign our public website.

Once the assigned tasks are completed and moved to our QA environment, the job will be mostly to oversee the successful testing of the changes, while the full-time developers continue re-skinning and re-working other applications within the scope of the project.  The idea is to keep the internal people working on the core deliverables in the timeline while the contractor will handle the majority of problems that come up in QA.

We have a wide range of applications, and make extensive use of Mach-II and CFC’s in our newer apps.  We are also using CSS for most of our positioning and page layout.  The current site is composed of a medley of applications and programming styles, and uses mostly tables for layout.  It also has mostly inline, procedural code with repeated queries against the same tables, etc, that needs to be migrated into CFC’s.  Our long-term goal is to migrate the entire site to an MVC framework, but within the scope of this project our main thrust is to accomplish the goals of our business users (essentially, the re-skin and a bit of new functionality), while at minimum separating our data access into components.

If you are interested, or know anybody qualified who would be, please send me your resume, references, and desired rate as soon as possible.  This is a 100% on-site position in North Dallas (635 & 75, near the High Five interchange).

No agencies please.

Best,

Eric
