I have a working directory watch working and it works. I can drop a
file into it and it adds info to a db and then moves the file to a
folder. say jpegs to a jpeg folder and pdfs to a pdf. If I have three
jpegs in a folder and drop it in there it will move the files and then
remove the folder from the watched folder.

but if I add several files with several folders all i know is it
doesn't seem to work right. not all of the files get copied and yadda
yadda yadda. I think the logic is read the file info, insert into db,
move file, delete folder. go to next file...

can i read file info, insert data into db, move file to another folder
and the when all the files are moved, delete the folders in the
directory watch. (keep it nice and clean.)
and if possible send an e-mail to notify 'these files' were added. It
now will send an e-mail for each indiviual file added. so if 1,000
files were added i would get 1,000 emails.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
For those intersted this is a tagging system. If i add a file I can
tag it with 'keywords' like rfp, insurance, companya. then I can look
at all rfps and it would show up. when a folder is dropped into the
directory that is being watched, the folder names are tagged to the
file. so if I had a document in a folder structure like
rfp\insurance\companya\documant.doc
document.doc would have rfp, insurance and companya associated with it.

I would be will to talk about this at a meeting...

thanks
john
