This problem is compounded by the fact that you can't really tell if the extra space indicates a two-word first name or a two-word last name (e.g., "Mary Ann Trempert" or "Oscar de Gutierrez"). To expand the quick-and-dirty solution with a little more, er, quick dirt: Consider checking the string for more than two spaces. If you get a positive result (i.e., listlen(YourString, " ") GT 2 --i think that works), have it choose a default action (e.g., always assume that the extra space indicates a two-word first name), then set a flag on it (e.g., cfmail you an alert asking you to eyeball the worrisome entry).
