I am currently at Max 2006 and no that are not getting rid of it, but it will be integrated with photoshop for the purpose not so much designing, but kind of a middle tier to bring flash, dreamweaver and flex apps together. It was pretty cool. Designers now can change the file in photoshop and changes will be reflected all the way down to the developer without the developer having to do anything.

Looks like Adobe is NOT going to get rid of Fireworks, or at least
right away!  Sign up to be a Beta tester if you are interested.
