Backup
mysqldump -u root -p --opt db_name > backup.sql

Restore
mysql -u root -p db_name < backup.sql

Dump that into a batch file and use scheduler.

Subject: [DFW CFUG] Auto-backup of MySql databases on Windows

Does anyone have any tips for doing auto backups of MySql 5 on Windows? All
the tools I know of are Linux shell scripts.
