Surgisoft, a Dallas-based software designing firm specializing in management systems for the medical device manufacturing and distributing groups, is looking for an experienced ColdFusion Developer. This person must have a thorough knowledge of web development technologies and database interfacing; experience with methodology based programming is preferred. Flash, Actionscript, or Adobe Flex experience are a plus, as well as experience with web design and graphics programs. Primary responsibilities include development/maintenance of our current and future client web applications. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, goal-oriented team player, has at least 3 years of ColdFusion development experience, working knowledge of MS-SQL databases, enjoys working in a project-based environment, and uses framework methodologies in site development. This position reports to the Director of Application Development. Surgisoft has been in business for over 4 years. Duties * Design, code, test, and debug web applications from functional specifications using ColdFusion, JavaScript, CSS, SQL queries, and stored procedures * Participate in the preparation of functional specifications for web applications * Maintain and implement improvements to assigned production applications * Provide hands-on support for production applications as assigned, to ensure systems are up to date and running efficiently. * Provide regular status reports detailing the status of applications and assigned projects. Requirements * 3+ years experience in complete life-cycle of design, development, deployment, and support of a web application * Intermediate to advanced knowledge of ColdFusion * Ability and willingness to work independently and with a team * Experience working one-on-one with clients receiving direct requests on their sites * Familiarity with formal documentation * Proficient SQL database experience * Self-starter ready to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment * Ability to communicate well with team members and customers * Additional Talents: · Technical writing · CSS, JavaScript, HTML, DHTML and XML · Flex / Flash · Experience with minor graphic design changes, cropping, etc. and has knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) · IT Security knowledge
