Jeff: Unfortunately I too would consider Frisco way out of the way. Not necessarily due to the mileage but due to the traffic. No matter what way you slice it getting into Frisco is pretty much limited to Preston, Coit or the DNT (this might get better once they open the new section to 380), all of which back up horribly at rush hour. Therefore I would consider driving into Frisco (between 4 and 7PM) a close tie for first on the fun-meter with sticking toothpicks into your fingernail bed. I appreciate your time looking into venues. I too found a similar location in Dallas (Dallas Community Center) which was designed solely for group meetings, however it was limited to government entities and 501.C3 groups. Similarly, Dallas parks department does allow rentals of some of their recreation centers for a small fee. This might be something to look into as well. I am sure a solution is just around the corner. -JSLucido

Sounds like good bennies though! Personally, I would consider Frisco "way out of the way", and I live in Carrollton. That's just me but am wiling to see what the response is. I know that we all appreciate you looking for, and finding, a possible location for the group. Thanks, Joe Kelly On 7/19/07, Jeff Mayfield < [EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Has a new location been settled on yet? If Frisco isn't too ridiculously out of the way I have a location that seats approximately 40 with enough table space for each person to have a laptop and a notebook. Also available are a projector and screen screen, wi-fi, can bring your own server/router and plug in to the network in order to broadcast the meeting or run demo sites, climate control, food (pizza, burgers, tex-mex, sandwiches ...) and beverage (including adult beverages) and a larger room available for the meetings that attract a larger audience. They can also cater a more upscale level of food if a sponsor wanted to do that for us on occasion. Other than location the only down side I see is that it normally costs 50.00 per event however if this is a registered 501c3 we may be able to make arrangements to have the room for free, and if not I still might be able to do something about the fee but don't want to start those wheels turning unless it's probable that this would be where the group moved to. If interested in travelling to Frisco let me know and we can identify whatever hurdles exist and I can start finding solutions for them. _______________________________________________ Reply to DFWCFUG: [email protected] Subscribe/Unsubscribe: <http://lists1.safesecureweb.com/mailman/listinfo/list> http://lists1.safesecureweb.com/mailman/listinfo/list List Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/list%40list.dfwcfug.org/ <http://www.mail-archive.com/list%40dfwcfug.org/> http://www.mail-archive.com/list%40dfwcfug.org/ DFWCFUG Sponsors: www.instantspot.com/ www.teksystems.com/
