I have simulated an environment using two workstations. I was able to checkout
projects and make changes and merge conflicting changes. Works great. I ran the
demonstration with the boss and a co-worker watching. The co-worker with an
antagonistic look in his face asked me why I was able to open the same file
with both workstations as if he didn't understand what I just did; he then
added we should NOT be able to check out the same file to prevent overwriting
each other's code. The boss agreed with him. I had to explain to both that what
they just witnessed was in fact one of the benefits like you just said Dave of
SVN.

Given the fact that one of the main benefits to SVN is conflict resolution and
the way that Subclipse makes it so easy for merging work with other developers
I would just be curious as to why you would want to do that?

How does one setup the CFEclipse, subclipse and subversion environment to not
allow other users to open a file that one already has opened considering both
have the same project checked out?
