Hi !
Just to be curious...
What do you mean by "with failover" ?
Does using "localhost:3128 transparent" break this ?
Sometimes I work on the squid package and from this point i'd like to know
which version of the squid package you're using or have been using ?
Always that latest ?
IIRC there was nothing changed for a long time in this interface and port
generation !?

Regards,
martin

Hi Raimund

Another guy reported the same problem in the portuguese mailing list.
He had selected the loopback interface in the GUI to configure Squid with
failover. The Squid package code has changed in the latest version, now it
listens on 127.0.0.1:3128 when configured in transparent mode, deselecting the
loopback in proxy interface solved the problem.

Hope I've helped
