Suresh - Ugo's trying to help by saying you should use top to give you and us an indication as to what is using the memory. You can either, from the command line type top or go to Diagnostics ->System Activity. Once you have done that send that to the list. In general you need to give sufficient information in questions not just 'i installed 'X' but it doesn't work, please help me'. pfSense and all the packages can be a complex beast, how it all works depends on lots of details about the configuration, the machine its running on and the different versions of pfSense and the packages. If you ask a question about pfSense or package 'X' without giving some context as to how you are using it and what problem you experiencing then its almost impossible for someone to give you a good answer. When you dont provide enough information you take up considerable time on the parts of many people, so you need to give us an indication that you have tried to help yourself before asking the list for help. In general you need to say: What version of pfSense you are using What version of the package you are using, if you are behind on a version then upgrade the package and see if that helps your situation What the specs are of your machine - running squid, squidguard and various other packages on 256MB of RAM and 10GB IDE 5400RPM drive, with hundreds of users is not going to work. Give information on the current processes running i.e. use 'top' and provide the output Quote fragments of logs of the affected package i.e. Squid's cache log and pfSense's system log. It is also useful to indicate what steps you have already taken to identify the problem and what the outcome of each step is. So please don't say 'I tried X and it didn't work'. What didn't work? What unexpected behaviour is it that you're seeing? What are the error messages? What do the logs say? etc. Lastly dont obfuscate detail unless absolutely necessary. You need to help us in order for us to help you. thx -- .warren _______________________________________________ List mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pfsense.org/mailman/listinfo/list
