I was running into the same problem.  According to what I've read online the
barnyard2 package hasn't been built yet so the file is MIA on the server.

I was able to install by SSH'ing into pfSense and executing the following
commands:

 

pkg_add -r http://files.pfsense.org/packages/8/All/snort-2.9.2.3.tbz

pkg_add -r
http://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386/packages-stable/All/barnyard2-
1.9_2.tbz

 

After you do that try to install the Snort package from the pfSense web
interface.  It should grab all the dependencies at this point.   Worked for
me.  Good luck!
